//// Photographic flowers

I feel pretty embarrassed about the H&M heaviness of my posts… …don’t know why they manage to produce such mass production garments that they really appeal me.
Take this dress. It’s heavy cotton-viscose satin with sturdy exposed metallic zipper on back, full lined, boned, with absolutely delightful photographic flower print with nearly graphic mix of black and white and super vivid hues. What can a girl do, especially when she sees something like this in sale, for ridiculous 24 €? Teamed it to an old cap sleeve T, Kaksi-Två marble print leggings (have I said that I love Kaksi-Två leggings?) and my old rubber band MC boots. For going out I threw on my trustworthy old Filippa-K wool blazer for some grown up kind of flair. No accessories… …but a Lanvin necklace with ridiculously sized gems would be rad with this… *dreaming on*

You wear it well! I’ve been looking at the same dress in H&M, because I’d love to incorporate more girly stugg into my autumn/winter wardrope, and j’adore the shape of the dress, but thought I could never make it work (or it wouldn’t suit my body type). You, once again, manage to make me think again!
Loving the leggings too!

i loved this dress too, but i missed it.
when did you buy it? do they still have it in helsinki???

Lisa, they still have it in the web shop, at the SALE section! (Just checked
)

the dress is absolutely beautiful and the way you combined it works magically well: delicate and tough. nice.

Such a cool combination of girrrly and raw.
Well, I also swear by H&M for cheap highstreet finds. I guess it is their shameless copying from the international catwalks and their ability to get it out in the shops in no time that is a part of their success story (of course, the price is an important issue as well)
I know very little of finnish fashion, apart from Ivana Helsinki, whom I love. Would there be any possibilities that you, sometimes, could post something about finnish fashion?

Sugar Kane, I’m pretty sure that this would be great for your body shape. You are leg girl, right?
Lisa: I bought this from online sale section as Sugar Kane suggested. I have a slight addiction to that place. Usually it is stuffed with crap, but sometimes I’ve found some real gems there: last winter I bought Comme des Garçons for H&M black skirt from there in half price.
Stellagee, thanks! I’m very attracted to contrasts in clothing.
Annika, thank you! I actually have posted about Finnish fashion few times — even in this outfit my leggings are from young Finnish designers Marjo Kuusinen and Piia Keto. They run a neat streetwear label Kaksi-Två. From the archives you can find posts about MMM, Dead Birds & Lionheart, and from my outfits you can find more Kaksi-Två, Attila Design and 2or+ (and more is coming, eventually…). My plan is to publish more about the designers in the future.
I should probably tag my posts more carefully, that would surely help to find all that stuff!
Edit. All posts referring to Finnish design now tagged!

Gosh, i must be blind or you bought the last piece but they dont have it anymore!! and i want it.
yes, sale section is really full of crap most of the time but i got couple of cute things from there too. I have a few H&M clothes and they serve me well actually surprisingly long.
i think finnish fashion would be nothing without oh so pop Marimekko. i have recently bought a fall/winter jacket by Marimekko, of which you can read in my own blog:

ok, found the dress.
September 30th, 2009 @ 5:51 pm
sizes left: 38, 40.
((((((((((((

Lisa: you need to open Dresses & Skirts, then Show all. The dress is on second page.
This is one wicked thing on the sale section. They take in stuff that has never been on the catalogs, so it has not been photographed on a model. So you don’t find them on the views where stuff is pictured on models…

Ok, late!

Thank you for tagging the Finnish design, now I do have some exiting posts to read.

Tosi makeesti stailattu kokonaisuus!
Tuo mekko on upea: mä olen aivan heikkona suurikuosisiin ja näyttäviin kukkakuoseihin (tosin ihan perinteisemmät eivät puhuttele, sellaiset on turhan imeliä, mutta esim. tuossa sun ruusukuosissa on just sopivaa yllättävyyttä ja asennetta). Neonvärit kukkakuoseissa on kanssa ihan ykköstä: tykkään kovasti esim. vaatteista joita Rinne Niinikoski taannoin suunnittelivat Nansolle.
Mekon malli istuu sulle upeasti. Itse tuskin saisin tuota mallia toimimaan, joten tuo ihanuus taitaa jäädä hankkimatta.
