The door in my wardrobe*

It is probably not that evident from the images of this blog, but I have actually lost some weight this summer, going down a size or even two. From the wardrobe point of view this is not a huge problem, most of my clothes are not close fitting anyway — and I’m totally capable to make small adjustments to garments in need of that.

But the one alarming problem was that my skinny black jeans are not that skinny anymore. Usable, yes, but not skinny. And skinny black pant (something sturdier than a pair of leggings) is such a cornerstone in my regime that I can’t do without. On the other hand — because I have a reason to believe that the gradual weight loss will still continue for a while I was not ready to invest too much to a new pair.

I’m so happy that I haven’t been carrying my pennies to H&M and Zara this autumn — but in this case the H&M shopping was kind of justified. I skipped the fall collection totally to save for the better shoes, but to be honest I have been considering some of the Divided Exclusive pieces anyway. And on the other hand, I think that this vinyl panelled stretch twill pair of pants is actually quite nice!

The fit is excellent, the vinyl panels are lined with soft fabric, the zippers are sturdy metallic ones. Could not expect more from 29 € pants. The vibe is bit S&M, but I guess that I can handle that. A counterattack of cuteness always works — and optionally by combining them to minimal pieces I hope that the feel will be more futuristic than fetishistic. I have no fear for shiny plastic, whatsoever. I had a beige plastic skirt few years ago and wore it to death.

For the test run I layered on some cutesy stuff: a H&M nude tunic, Zara silk tunic & Vero Moda scarf. The ruffles you see underneath are actually a piece of tube jersey I have been using as a mini skirt and a top, would probably look nice as a scarf, too. And the shoes… …those Vagabonds. I’m still after the black Rützou wedges… …we’ll see…

Well guess what: I’ve been looking for exactly the same kinda pants for a while (I feel silly in full-on pvc)! More futuristic than fetish is exactly it.

Loving the styling, loving your legs!

    Loistavasti yhdistelty!

Ja joo, oon ihan samaa mieltä mitä tuon kaltaisiin housuihin tulee; futuristista fiilistä sen olla pitää, ei liian fetisististä tai s&m:aa. Mut sulla homma pysyy minusta just makeesti rajan “oikealla” puolella — söpömmät ja tyttömäisemmät elementit tasapainottavat upeasti kokonaisuutta.

    Ja siis hienot housut!!

I have the exact same trousers! The old goth in me made me buy them.
The pvc on mine have ripped at the fabric joining seam at the front, so my no longer sun tanned thighs can be seen through the little holes… so I now wear them with a longer tunic or a dress.
I guess you always get what you pay for, wich is unfortually sometimes the case with high street labels.

shiny black with powderpink and ruffles looks always oh so amazing! And whenever losing weight and for that matter losing important clothing I justify replacements :)

There is something very Japanese about that clothing combination & really adorable. I love the pants and congrats on the weight loss.

Sugar Kane: thanks! This pant is still available, at least online.

Anna, olen huomannut että tavallaan on aika mukavaa hankkia vaatekappaleita, jotka vähän pakottavat tasapainottelemaan. Pukeutumisesta löytyy yllättäen uusia puolia. Kyllä minua vähän hirvitti tuo kaikki muovin kiilto, mutta nyt tuntuu jo ihan kotoisalta!

Annika: eek, now I’m staring my thighs suspiciously all time! Oh, I hope so much that these won’t fall apart instantly.

    Jalouse: definitely agreed!

kitty kitty: I guess you are right — and because you can’t see my mouse colored hair and Scandinavian features in these pics the influence is quite evident. Thanks!
