The door in my wardrobe*

*the door not actually being there was a disappointment - but at least I was allowed to play with the clothes

//// 100th

I feel that I just started — and now this is the 100th post. For a former knitting blogger a style blog is really a lightweight task: I’m just doing what the fashion enthusiastic nerds do (namely dressing up and surfing the net) and lightly documenting the process. No need to actually knit — or accomplish in general — anything.

However I felt that my hundreth post could be slightly special — it is so funny how I’m so fascinated by “milestones” of any kind…  Anyway, I think that Ranna’s challenge for self drawn outfit post (in Finnish) is so sweet that it is worth implementation, even this late — and it serves perfectly my need for “something special” for this important moment… =)

This is what I wore couple of days ago. An old H&M cotton silk dress in weird mustard brown shade, piece of cream colored ruffled tube jersey underneath. Pale blue-green tights, Docs and lovely old linen coat I’ve ordered from mail catalog few years ago and dyed Mao blue (named the color by myself, that grayish dark blue definitely reminds me the uniforms of communist China).  On my neck you can see the third part of my fall wardrobe plan, cream colored Necklush with graphite gray print.

    Hello,

You may like a flickr page called: what I wore today (drawings only) maybe it is the one you are talking about?
I like the drawing you did, did you do the background, or does the paper come like that?

Oh yes, Ranna mentioned that group in her original post — that was her inspiration for the challenge for Finnish style bloggers!

I made the background — sort of… It is actually a part of one of my photographs. The work is really quick and dirty mixed media thingy, I doodled the outlines with ink, snapped a photograph of the sketchbook, colored and filled with some patterns in Photoshop using rough angular masks to select the areas to fill.

And the link to the group if anyone’s interested!

I must have missed this, but are you a graphic designer or an illustrator or something like that? I really love the ink.

Time flies when you are having fun! Love your drawing. I’ve been meaning to do one myself, sometime…

May, I worked as an graphic designer and AD in so called new media for almost 10 years, still doing some freelance gigs.

I’m not too seasoned with traditional media, though, switching always to computer as soon as possible :D . Now I aim more to motion graphic stuff, animation and programmed visuals.

sugar kane: waiting to see your outfit of a day as a drawing!

I very much like how you did that, would make wonderful letter writing paper for us arcane ink and stamp lovers :0)

I absolutely love your drawing. So wish I had your talent so I could post my own outfit drawing!

And Happy 100th! It’s my 200th today as well. :)

Kruse, haha, I need stamps when I post something to tax office, only! But I agree, cloud paper would be fab to put thoughts on to. I haven’t completely abandoned the pen thingy, I have memo / sketch book almost always with me.

Steff, you SHOULD do the outfit drawing post. It is not a talent contest — and it is great fun! If you take a look to that Flickr group you see the whole spectrum of talent there — but all images are equally enjoyable!

[…] Necklush has been here on my drawing only  —  and it is the last piece of my fall wardrobe plan. My H&M allowance has been used […]
