The door in my wardrobe*

*the door not actually being there was a disappointment - but at least I was allowed to play with the clothes

//// Girl in gray

Actually I’m wearing quite a lot girly clothes. I guess that for me there are couple of basic starting points. The other one I call “Miuccia Prada silhouette” ( =) ) and that means about knee length full skirts combined to varying top parts — like today. I’m not after the fifties silhouette with cinched waist and fitting top — on the contrary I usually try to avoid all vintage associations. Oh, I really don’t care if the pouf skirts are yesterdays trend, I’ve loved them since they emerged in eighties…

The other way to go is with mini skirt, with those I prefer heavy layering with layers that go below the skirt hemline (actually that look is not always too girly when I think that again…). Mid lenght narrow skirts I find bit too restricting for regular use and I don’t have too many A-lined skirts, either.

In spite of what I just previously said… …this autumn I would love to add a silhouette with long column skirt, and I’m definitely keeping my eyes open in thrift stores for promising ones. There is not too much consistency (if any) in my style rules…

Today I was wearing an old Vero Moda skirt, old Chloe T-shirt, old leather cuffs from some random cheap accessory shop (I really like pair these, the effect is borderline disturbing, especially when the other elements of the outfit are quite soft), textured mesh leggings from Divided Exlusive and my Rützou boots. Did the messy side bun in the middle of shooting — asymmetric hair pairs well with my slightly wonky face.

    i like this one, because i am also back to gray. :) my retro print period is somehow over and here i am back to those gray things i bought last fall. love your skirt, i have similar tulip skirt by Ginatricot in thin gray tweed and i cant get enough of it (cheap stuff that seems to last surprisingly long). and funnily enough i bought a long column skirt from uff 1 week ago, its black velvet cord and happens to fit perfectly. will be wearing with suede boots and turtle necks. :)

    “Miuccia Prada silhouette” is a fine way to put it, and it suits you! I should explore more non-vintagey ways to wear skirts and dresses, too.

    I like this outfit a lot, grey is one of my most loved colours. All shades of grey.

    Lisa, tweedy tulip skirt sounds absolutely scrumptious! And I would love to see your column skirt!

    Sugar Kane, that is a good idea. Skirts and dresses can be quite comfortable — and I love how they can expand the variation.

    Braindance, we have similar tastes…

    here we have the tulip skirt (sorry, not on me, as i dont have a good setting at the moment to model and need to leave for a class in 20 min :) plus i need to find a good place to take photos in my apartment in general, you have this absolutely brilliant glass brick wall which i wanted to have in my apartment too but then we were cut short with all efforts because of the kitchen). dont you think it looks a lot like yours? it has got those comfy pockets which i love. i dont know if it enlarging my ass too much, but i dont care.

    the column skirt i need to model indeed otherwise you dont get correct idea of it, hanging on the wall…

    i am definately a skirt maniac, have always been. i know, its not a practical piece of clothing, compared to a dress. but i love ALL skirts and i like creating outfits with them. plus you can make a skirt out of practically anything, to be honest, without a single stitch. :) its the easiest piece of clothing, in my opinion.

What do you think?
