This is so clever — and gives a plethora of wearing options. Cut the edges of the shirt, but leave the cut out straps partially attached. Use the straps to gather the garment when wearing. Elizabeth uses a tuxedo shirt for this — but I bet that oversized jersey garments would work beautifully for this, the stretchiness would probably give even more styling options.

    Thanks for posting this! I have an ArtLab tshirt that has some cut out straps, and now I’m quite excited to see what I could do to create some gathers. And Elizabeth’s blog is going to make me obsessed with Gareth Pugh…

    Tell me about that! I really liked the Gareth Pugh fringed cardigan in the one of the new posts. There is great DIY potential in that, too. Even triangular suede scarf with long fringes would be fab!
