The door in my wardrobe*

*the door not actually being there was a disappointment - but at least I was allowed to play with the clothes

//// Color blocking

Posted on | November 7, 2009 | 5 Comments

Susie throws a great challenge in to the air: wear color! The idea is to combine single colored garments to an outfit, aiming to as many separate color blocks as you can. I was not able to reach the ten-colors-at-the-time ultimate challenge with my first attempt, but I might continue with second outfit tomorrow.

Kelly green shoes from Vagabond.
Neon yellow-green socks from We Love Colors, these are insane (I love We Love Colors).
Pale denim blue pants from Ulrika Sandström.
Purple T from Diesel, much more vivid IRL. I end up tucking it in after taking photos, instead of tying it on the middle, it gave better proportions.
Pale chartreuse tank from who knows where, this is ancient.
Gray wool coat from Acne (you have to imagine this).

Six colors alltogether… …but they still did not beat the darkness…

    Yes, it went out… =)

    I did not like the shape of these shoes from the beginning but I loved the color so much that I bought them anyway. They just stand out from the sea of black and brown shoes and I could not help it.

    Helsinki is awful place to buy shoes, very small selection, mid priced but interesting brands are totally missing here. We get some pairs from Swedish designers (mainly) to small boutiques but they tend to pick quite safe options. In Finland there is not much happening in the womens shoe design. Minna Parikka does good (should I say pioneering) job but her style is very burlesque / vintage, not my thing.

    Superihanat värit — ihailen muuten yleensäkin sitä, miten hienosti osaat käyttää neonsävyjä tuomassa loistetta muuten elegantin pehmeään palettiisi.
