//// Poof!

I have some fascinations for strangest of items. One of them is tutu. I have two… …well the other is full length nude tulle skirt with lining, not sure if I can really count it, the other is silver gray, more true to its origins.
From Etsy I have found several tutu shops, but I think that two of them are above others, Princess Doodle Beans makes beautiful and very affordable tied tutus (the image above and my gray one is from there), another one I’ve had my eyes on is Tiara’s Tutus.
I’ve used the full length one as evening gown with super tight, almost corset like dark jean jacket. I also have plans to make a super minimalistic leather corset to pair with it. The gray one is still waiting its debut, but I have plans…

Sorry, just could not help adding some Sex and the City tutu goodness here. I’m not sure about the origins of the first image, it has been in my inspiration folder for ages. The seafoam colored one is from Bunny With a Toolbelt. I think I could use one mid length one in seafoam color in addition to those I own…
Do you have any use for a cloud of delicious tulle?

Minimalistic leather corset with extravagant tulle sounds wonderful! I’d love me a tutu as well, although it probably wouldn’t suit me or my bodytype at all, but a girl can dream, right? I’d also wear it with something edgy or masculin.

I would love to coat my bedroom with tutus. Thanks for having found out where the mint green SATC number is from, it really is beyond me how you get your facts! (and Etsy finds)
I would probably never wear a tutu but since I seem to have a kind of a fairy fetish, I do have to say I love them.

Oh, I just realised you just pointed to the _picture link_ of the mint green (seafoam does sound better though!) I suppose.
Tulle as material is fascinating and I’ve been eyeing these wrist cuffs from Pixie Market because of the tulle-marries-leather theme: http://www.pixiemarket.com/store/marnettawhiteleatherandtullecuff-p-778.html

^May, yes that is just a picture link– I would guess that this dress is just a vintage prom dress, very easy to make with basic sewing skills. That leather-tulle cuff is awesome, thanks for the link!
Sugar kane, I think that it would go fine with your body type, you are all enough and have light build in your upper body. For me it is definitely the most flattering option — but hey, I don’t care
Materiaalikin tulee yksikerroksiseen tosi halvaksi.

Oh I’d love a full length one for a ball gown. I’d want to order one from Bonzie’s Etsy shop if I happened upon a few hundred dollars. I’d also like a shorter one to layer under some skirts and what not like a crinoline. Or over pants.

beautiful, tutus are very interesting item for me. basically, its working clothes (and performance too of course). and they associate with some hard physical work (together with bloody toed point shoes). but yes, its nice how people incorporate tutus into the modern wardrobes. i like tutus with wrap knits for total ballet feel and my dream has always been that someone would actually take couple of photos of me in tutu and a ballet wrap knit as well as point shoes (a little bit toulouse lautrec style — in the changing room so to say). still to be implemented. i love powder pink and grey ones.

^^That Bonzie one is absolutely divine! I think that I might try to make something similar some day, tulle is actually really easy to work with. My grey tulle skirt is very practical length and could well be used as petticoat. With trousers… …hmm, why not, I have to think about that!
Lisa, that would make a fabulous photo! Right now I have an idea of tutu photoshoot for myself, and that will be quite different. But on the other hand I don’t have dancer’s build, or nothing near of it.
Edit: Breaking the barn doors in tutu might be more of my style, hahaha!

ha ha, i am not near as thin as i used to be (too thin). but i think there are ballet dancers with shapes, at least in Finland, i have seen quite curvy ones.
i think ballet dress photos in a non-ballet atmosphere are really cool. question: where to get a good but cheap photographer with a studio?
