//// The skirt suit

Hmm, do you think the most conservative of all outfits, when I say skirt suit? Well, I have to admit that I do.

Whatever I might think about skirt suits in general level, I’m in love with this particular one. It is Comme des Garçons for H&M jacket and pleated skirt. That designer collaboration with Rei Kawakubo has been my absolute favorite of them all — and I could have bought almost every item from the collection. I end up leaving the shop with two jackets and a skirt, later I snatched another skirt from the sale. I really regret that I did not take the polka dot cardigan and scarf… …the blouse, harem pants and the showpiece jacket were awesome, too.
But anyway, these jackets are great. They are quite deconstructed, material is heavy wool elasthan and they are unlined. So they add minimal amount of bulk, are warm and comfortable and look surprisingly sharp. Today I wore the jacket on bare skin, and yes, you can see my upper arms, the jacket has holes on the upper sleeve. The skirt has a weird gray cotton flannel piece that nudges a piece of the actual skirt outwards.
The suit is accompanied with ripped nylons and nylon knee socks held up with SWANclothing sock garters. What a clever accessory! They continue my suit theme here by taking out to display a garment that is usually hidden under gentlemen’s pant legs — and add detail to my legs making things just a bit more interesting.

i love the play of the women’s vs men’s suit especially in the detail of the sock garters.
although a fan of cdg, i skipped the h&m collaboration – actually i found one cotton print cardi on sale, but that’s it. i haven’t seen the items irl before and your suit looks great. thus, i’m starting to regret not checking it out…

Upea asu!! Ja hei WOW noi “sukankannattimet”! Mikä mahtava asuste!!
Kaikista H&M suunnittelijayhteistyökuvioista Rei Kawakubon kokoelma on suurin suosikkini.

Linda, sure they will! These are so clever little thingies!
Anna, siis sellainen, jossa toinen puolikas vähän niinku roikkuu… …joo…
