No, I did not test nutmeg trips…

Eggnog for the Christmas! Cream, milk, organic eggs, some sugar, rum and some freshly grated nutmeg. How could that be bad?

I’ve been thinking making this for years, but now I got a nice little reminder/kick on the ass from Luxirare’s image feed. Thanks, Ji, the recipe really works!

Edit. some background music for the wintery eggnog moments. In addition to being one of the worst procrastinators alive (thinking about making eggnog for years, duh), I just hate Christmas music. But at this time of year I appreciate my feelings to be touched. So I can discern not to be totally frozen. Or just accidentally hibernated.

The Little Sparrow from Paris can be trusted for that duty.

thank you for your comment! i do in fact keep up with your blog, but am usually too inexperienced and therefore embarrassed to comment on your topics.

i have always wondered what eggnog tastes like, but it is not a drink that can be found where i live.

Kurarin, thet was really weirdly put, I have perceived you as an intelligent, interesting young woman, so embarrasment should not be anywhere near you.

The ingredients for eggnog are relatively basic, although I guess that dairy is not such a staple in many Asian countries than it is in Europe and US. It is not difficult to make, so give it a try if you are interested!

If I had to describe it, I would join to the opinion, that it tastes heavenly first, but too much is too much of this drink, it is so rich. As a taste it is quite contradictory, the richness of fatty milk and cream meet the incredibly fluffy texture of beaten egg whites. I wanted to use rum to it, because in my opinion mixed to other ingredients it has delicate taste enough to not to overpover the very delicate, nutty-aromatic taste of nutmeg. Both rum and nutmeg have a slight, perfumey like taste-element that goes so well together. I would compare the taste of eggnog to fine, molten ice cream. With less sugar, though.

I love eggnog! My boyfriend always wants to make it for Xmas since he is from the U.S. Thanks for the recipe link, perhaps I will try it this year.

Btw, my blog is in your “daily dose in Finnish” section but I blog in English. :D
