The door in my wardrobe*

*the door not actually being there was a disappointment - but at least I was allowed to play with the clothes

//// My stripes

In opposed to shopping in well edited second hand boutiques, rummaging through charity shops is an exercise of patience — and the effort is not even rewarded every time. After my great print jacket find I haven’t had too much luck in my nearby UFF and Fida. But yesterday I decided to drop by in at my lunchbreak. And I found a long crocheted cardigan — this pretty awesome piece was scattered with some random trinkets — which all I did not like, so some ripping and use of isopropyl alcohol was essential (the latter removes some iron-on motifs from fabrics, and is relatively gentle to fabric colors — use with caution, though). I might even sew a new lining to it, thinking some delicious silk taffeta instead of that pretty hideous lining satin… …anyway the shape of this coat is great and it was in flawless condition.

The other piece is amazing heavyweight 80’s leather jacket. I found it from one euro rail! I’m considering keeping it as it is, the shape is really boxy but simple. Cautious altering would also work… …just removing the hem would make it slightly A-lined — and the striped structure would nicely emphasize the new shape. Or then again I could use it as a material… …it would make an amazing bag.

    Please keep it as a jacket. Then when you tire of it, send it to me!

    I will very probably keep it as a jacket… …and better pics will be here, soon!
