//// But threads that are golden
don’t break easily

Ok, I kind of promised to myself to not to do these via-the-mirror-headless photoshoots — but here we go again. I just got so excited from my latest second hand acquisition that I had to take the pics instantly — although I actually did not have time for decent session. So the quick and dirty option…
But I’m wearing a pair of awesome antique gold leather shorts from Kellykitsch. They are even better in person than I had imagined — rather high waisted, soft and beautifully worn leather. Plus the length is just fine for me.
I’m still in rather sober clothing mood so I put them together simply with old sleeveless and buttonless A-lined blouse from H&M — I really like how modern those three pintucks on the hem look as an only detail of this garment, All Saints wrap cardigan, Falke tights and those oh-so-familiar Rützou wedges.
I have to say that I realized just a while ago that those are almost exact copy of Rick Owens’ ankle boots, only the zipper positioning is slightly different and the zipper might be bit chunkier in these. I’ve never paid attention to those Owens boots before, I’ve been so blinded by his other shoe designs.
Not sure what I think about that. The quality of these shoes is excellent and they have a great, super comfortable last… …but still.
Although I’m not too self conscious I have to say that the thigh-discussion in the previous post made me think if a pair of shorts really is a good choice for my build. For a very brief while. If I’m starting that I will soon wear full cover potato sacks — and when have those actually improved anyone’s looks?

It’s not a coincidence, I just dug out exactly same piece of leather that I have for years, plotting what to do with it. It looks great with powdery pink plush of all things, but even better with old faded gray… something. There’s something in the air…

gosh, the shorts are really gorgeous. once again: not an option for my work wardrobe, but i do LOVE these. i see no reason for you to doubt whether you can wear these, you have classical feminine build and you wear feminine clothes. doesnt it make sense?

oh! dear — i have not gotten to the previous post — so will catch up on your reference — as for the golden short, i have to say that the quick way your throw them together is both surprising and excellent — i don’t wear short stuff often because i did not inherit pair of great legs
— but, i would jump into this outfit in a heart bit!!! bravo, xx

Love the shorts and the cardigan! I’ve been looking for a metal colored shorts but no luck yet.. I think Betty and Rumi had those awhile back (in silver though) and I fell in love with them ever since.

I sometimes think that headless mirror –shoots are the trademark of “I’m-not-a-model-nor-a-photographer”, that taking photos like this justify even very bad and quick photos (of which my blog is full full full).
In any case when I look at most peoples’ blog photos, I only ever see the outfit that’s depicted, not the poses nor the expressions nor the quality of photography.
Also, I just have to say that I’m so pissed now for having thrown away an ivory metallic leather miniskirt which was too big for me. I used to wear it a lot around 1999. Why.

Plus, I really like the combination of white and metallic in your outfit.

Those soft leather shorts are just gorgeous — I’ll be on the hunt for a pair of those!

May — that is absolutely the worst kind of wardrobe pain — knowing that there was a gem… …but having deliberately thrown it away…
These days I try to avoid wardrobe cleanups, but that decision will soon backfire, my wardrobe is so full.
Good luck, Madame G! I’ll bet that there will be at least some metallic leather for the summer.

Not many people can manage metallic shorts, but these look great.
