//// The DIY reminder

These trinket belts are from Dolce & Cabbana spring 2009 collection — and I decided to make one as soon as I saw them. I would love to combine it to some distressed looks — perhaps mixed with some military elements — rather than bold colored silk dresses, like Anna Dello Russo here. Not sure about the origins of this image, has been in my inspiration folder for a while.
Now I need some decent ribbon and maybe some loose rhinestones. I have several brooches I could use on it — and better yet they can be detached and reattached as many times I please.

I say yes to this. I’m still thinking of ways to jazz up my basic office outfit which consists of a white shirt and black wide-legged trousers … boring! I’ve had my own uniform project going on for some time, without any success I must say. Something like this would be perfect.

Yes, this would go perfectly with outfit like that!
I just ordered several yards of real silk satin ribbon from eBay. I think that I will construct the belt over a wide elastic and hide a simple clasp underneath the ribbons. I want the length be such that it can be worn on waist but also hitched a bit lower… …so the ribbon rosettes have to overlap to cover the elastic even when lightly stretched. Should not be too difficult!
Couple of detail shots from Style.com, there are delightfully slight variations of the design:
