The door in my wardrobe*

*the door not actually being there was a disappointment - but at least I was allowed to play with the clothes

//// Wardrobe confessions

Posted on | February 11, 2010 | 9 Comments

The weird thing of my wardrobe is that I have outrageous amount of dressy dresses — athough I never go out :-D . I guess that I’ve always had soft spot for them… …but then I had a longish period in my life with very, very pared down clothing and when ‘healing’ from that I had a bit deranged understanding of my wardrobe needs.

Anyway, I experimented with the leggings also combining them to dressier outfits. This Rodebjer silk number is probably one of my favorites — although the cut of the body is not best for my build (it’s open to the navel). I have figured out different solutions for that, one of them being this old Zara feather cape worn over it — I purchased that for a theme party several years ago.

I feel like an ice skater… The leggings are from Black Milk, shoes those Rützous and the silk organza jacket I’m adding is from H&M.

    i can totally relate. i could actually claim i collect vintage dresses although lately my collection has been resting and my other collection of dresses, new ones, has been expanding steadily. i do go out, but for being a very casual dresser even on my nights out, my dresses make very little sense.

    i still adore every single one.

    True… …I also tend to go for casual when going out. Does certainly not make sense.

    Maybe we should start overdressing to casual events!

    I have the same problem: I buy a lot of dressy dresses, and have no where to wear them. But recently I’ve just started wearing some of them for normal everyday things, because I can.

    Steff, that’s probably exactly the way to solve this. I do it too seldom, mainly in summertime. But light dresses like this would look awesome with chunky knits…

    Thanks for the nice words :-)

    I think the color of the dress is amazing. Also like how you pulled it all together to dress-down the dress. I have a pair for leggings from Black Milk and always get complimented. I think you should check out http://shoplarousse.com/. For Fall 09, they will be carrying Rodebjer and Neurotica from the UK. If you enter FASHION15 at check out you can save an additional 15% too. It’s some new coupon code for fashion bloggers.
