//// DIY: before and after
Posted on | March 23, 2010 | 5 Comments

Today the sun kept shining — and I had excellent thrifting karma! At Fida Hämeentie I scored this white blouse for couple of euros. It’s organic cotton, super soft and looks almost unworn. The design was… …eh… …blah… …but when I saw it I instantly thought adding bit weight to that ruffle part…
The simple DIY involved two times three meters of cotton lace, in slightly different shades to give the lace cascade more depth. I sew them together first, then ruched the combination and attached it to the edge of front ruffle. Working time: just under 30 min. I think I’m actually going to use this… …the leather pants want to make friends with it… …and the golden leather shorts are second in line…

i love this! did you sew the lace on by hand or machine?
i can spend all day looking at your diy’s. you are so talented, and they inspire me to do something other than taking scissors to a t-shirt. mwah!

By machine. I have done crafts since a kid; knitting being my strongest skill… …but I still love the DIY’s involving “just” scissors and t-shirts.

i wish you lived closer and we could have diy parties. i feel like there is so much i can learn from you. i really have a hard time with sewing… too time consuming or something. i made a great chain body harness last nite. i think you would be proud, it is very large and gold. will post pics soon. i just posted a diy video with the tee from the other day. a bit intimidating posting myself for all to see. video is a bit more intimate than pics. aargh! mwah. wow. i am always writing novels in your comment section. haha.
