Hey,
funny I was actually getting worried because of the silence on your blog!
I check in every now and then and was wondering what's going on, glad to hear you're okay!

I love pine nuts - and will certainly not stop eating them. There is no research or consensus between the people what actually causes the effect and how, but it might be that it is a certain variety of pine nuts that cause it. The particular type comes usually from China. The seed is smaller and rounder than in the Mediterranean variety.

If this is true I'm probably blaming the organic nuts of my müesli - they fit to the description and might be from China (although the shop is still finding out the origins, the nuts were sold by weight and they did not have the original package left to tell about the origins). I will take some pictures when I find out more about the issue.

But if this lasts two weeks I have to say that nothing is worth of this. I can barely eat. Sweet and creamy stuff tastes ok initially - but the aftertaste is horrible. And foods with any bitter elements taste horrible all the way, black coffee and red wine being the worst *deep sigh*. Some people say that white wine and balsamic vinegar taste ok... ...so maybe some salad and white wine for dinner...

The question is : is the delicious taste of roasted pine nuts worth the metallic aftertaste?
