//// The space suit
Posted on | March 4, 2010 | 5 Comments

To be totally honest the Balenciaga strong shoulder statement jackets did not move me too much. But give me a space suit and I’m going bananas! Actually I would be happy with the space jacket, only. I would wear it with my most severe pulled back hair and stare to the moon all night.
I try to avoid these pure Style.com –posts, I mean nothing new in these pics… …but this just looked so fresh and struck right to my geeky nerve…

The last couple of seasons I need to force myself to follow the fashion shows. Why are they pushing so many collections per year if the design doesn’t even change that much? When the suck out all possible variations on the same theme, 3 seasons later, they change the story a bit and the whole circle starts all over again. Resorts, pre-fall, after-fall, yawn…
would one smashing collection a year be enough for our hungry eyes? OK, I give them two, for old times sake.

Lisa, where is this Essentiel brand sold? I would really like to see them! Yoox seems to carry few items from them but I was not able to find their website…
dust — I agree with you completely. The rhythm comes from industry and is run for profits, it does not endorse creativity.
(Related side note: on the other hand when I’m thinking myself as a consumer I could imagine buying probably more high end stuff if the cycles of fashion were slower. I would have time to consider and save money.)

indeed! H&M would have a chance to upgrade the quality and price too, so that all those people in China and Turkey and Pakistan finally could earn more! I know, utopia…
