//// Back and front

As a design detail — or should I say undesign detail — I tend to loathe the undesigned back –phenomenon… …yes a suit vest can have a plain lining fabric back and printed T does not necessarily need anything to back… …I mean how — often in cheap and middle priced garments — the embellishments and details are all clustered to front with no attention to back view of the garment at all.
But still this outfit is a full-body realization of that — the back is very calm and conventional, the front is shred, printed and lightly layered. Wearing DIY shredded jeans (I’m still in awe of the leg elongating effect of these), second hand Escada jacket, Cheap Monday vest over American Apparel see-thru vest, Rützou wedges. Snaggle tooth inherited.

This is great! I love the contrast between the back and the front. You shredded those jeans yourself? Amazing.

Whoa! The contrast is amazing, I was really surprised to discover the front side!

Oh what a delightful surprise. I’m sure if I took a second look at you if I passed you on the street, it would require a third look based on the contrast.

For slashing I used very sharp scissors and did not cut but just teared them open with the blade. I also tried to create somewhat symmetric pattern with the slashes — and washed the jeans in vigorous cycle after cutting them, that really gave the final touch to the outlook of slashes.
I have weird eyes — the rim of iris is dark blue, but the middle is very pale, so my eye color seems to change a lot depending on how much light there is around. That pale blue wolf-eye look is bit scary to me, haha!

you know what, i have often wondered the same phenomenon: why do embellishments stop at side seams and why the back gets so little attention?
but i like the idea of contrast in the outfit, worlds collide, kinda.
