//// Training report

Posted on | April 6, 2010 | 5 Comments

My fitness project goes on pretty decently… …on the end of February / beginning of March I had a short period of not-that-regular exercise, but otherwise everything has gone really well. On the last weeks I have even lost some weight, and it is surprising how soon it affects to images. Or actually selecting the images; there are less and less those ones on which I look like grounded whale. Actually almost all front and back images are usable now (excluding the ones I have the infamous zombie face — for amateur model it is surprisingly difficult to remember that it actually helps to have some sort of expression going on on face when shooting) — but my side profile could still use some reduction, haha!

In my case I guess that the last step necessary to really see some results was cutting down the wine consumption, dramatically. On the best case that will affect positively to my chronic condition, too.

I have also adjusted the amounts of interval training vs. weight training in favor of intervals… …I realized that my weakness truly is the aerobic condition and for my well being it might pay off to focus to that for a while. Plus the cross trainer machine is gentle enough for my knees and hips, even if they have slight inflammation action going on.

Now I’m planning to have two intensive months with four days training cycle: intervals, weight training, intervals, rest. When the weather gets better I might even take the aerobics outside for some variation. And on the end of May I will critically evaluate the results.

    Can you send some motivation my way please? :o )

    haha, I have stopped bashing my motivation… …I just book the exercise time to my calendar (weekly) and think about it like any other meeting in there. If it has to be cancelled it is almost always necessary to reschedule it.

    Not always loving it — but I can probably say that about almost all items in the calendar.

    The nicest thing about exercise is 3D feeling of your body, which you notice when you stop training and 3D feeling starts to fade.
    Good decision about the wine. Nothing against it, but damages are greater than advantages. I drink wine, only a glass every couple of months now, and only the wines and grappa that Italian neighbor gets from her family and locals ’round her Italian village. They all taste like nectar.
    It’s good to be pleased with yourself, makes you even more beautiful! when you look better, you feel better, and feeling better makes you look better, and so on…

    dust, you are absolutely right about that 3D-feeling — although I couldn’t have figured out to describe it like that. The regular life of average office rat almost makes one to forget that the body actually exists. I have also noticed that for me it really helps trying to stay mindful during my exercise… …so if I can decide I’m not turning on the music or TV but concentrate just on listening my body, observing and challenging it to perform.

    Oh, now you nailed the music issue. I love music so much that it takes a lot of my brain activity and working in silence boosts concentration levels. It’s like being able to hear ones thoughts. I’m gonna report this next time I sit in a car with a stupid radio on, as a proof that I’m not alone who thinks this way! Thank you!
