The door in my wardrobe*

*the door not actually being there was a disappointment - but at least I was allowed to play with the clothes

//// Almost there

I have been eyeing these Vagabond sandals… …I like everything in them, the clumpiness, the unfussy “health sandal” look, even the price (69 €) — but one small detail just ruins them for me. The ugly attachment of the leather strips to the soles. Few round rivets instead of those “office type” staples, maybe couple of euros more price and I would have been sold.

    I agree! In the gray version they are not as visible though.. I hate it when otherwise a perfect shoe has that minor little thing that totally bugs you, and it just ruins everything.

    Todellakin! Minulta jää usein monet jutut ostamatta tuon kaltaisten yksityiskohta ‘virheiden’ takia. Yhtä ärsyttävää kuin vääränlaiset niitit, on jotkut erottuvat tikkaukset, esim. mustissa kengissä valkoiset.

    I was thinking the same about the gray ones… …but dunno… I think that the fact that they are there would still bug me.

    Joo, ärsyttävän yksityiskohdan ei aina tarvitse olla iso juttu — silti se voi olla ihan ylitsepääsemätön :-/

    you can get the nice round nails in upholstery departments. Shoemakers have them as well, but then you don’t have a DIY post!

    I guess that Vagabond have jumped on the Swedish clog band wagon. Clogs have been the it shoes in Sweden for the last few summers, every since Swedish Hasbeens http://swedishhasbeens.com/ clogs got trendy. All swedish glogs are stapled, even the ones that will cost you € 181. The clogs I remember from my childhood were stapled. It is probably just a swedish thing. I have not even given the staples a thought until now, and you are right, nails look a lot neater than staples.

What do you think?
