Yes, my interest to flats just went up a notch - I think my summer flat collection will grow with a pair of new sandals (black ones - why don't I have black sandals?) and maybe with gray low top Converse.

Haha, that's about my life, right?

Kamicha - i am so sorry to hear about the incident - though you wrote in humor - i knew it would not be a pleasant experience to fall ... the good thing! of course, as dealing with such situation, mostly of time, we simply have to be thankful nothing major has happened!!! so, 2nd hand shop next time - for now, just give little rest to the poor ankles.

I really knew well about the feeling of being towering over people w/ heel or platform to only find ourselves trapping by our highness and lacking of balance ... hence, i am more and more gravitating towards flat or medium heel - just for an ability to move swiftly ;-)

miss you, xx

Haha, these probably fill the death trap definition!

All the wedges are not like these - for example my Rützou ankle boots are almost as high as these - but the platform is bit thinner, the shoe bends a bit and there is good heel support. They are super comfortable and very easy to walk. But I'll bet that rubber grip sole would do good for these.

The leg is healing very well, I have still pain but the range of movement is back to normal... ...what a relief.

Stellagee - I guess that my heel skills extend to the exactly same point - and I have no interest to exercise them further. It would probably cost me a limb.

Auts - kuulostaa tosiaan mahdottomalle - mutta näitähän sattuu! Onneksi et jäänyt auton alle (niistä ei sentään torilla ollut pelkoa)!

Hakaniemi is designed in such a way that cobblestones can't be avoided when taking bus to the north/eastbound lines - and Hakaniemi market hall is also surrounded by those picturesque little death traps - so I guess I just have to adapt my footwear choices. Don't really know what went into me in that morning... ...but I have to say that the clumpy wedges balanced the outfit perfectly :-D

Ou nou!!! Toivottavasti jalka paranee pian. Suffer for fashion.. itse kaaduin jokunen kuukausi sitten kirjaimellisesti mahalleni keskellä autotietä kun maihareiden nauha tarttui toisen kengän nyörityskoukkuun (enpä olisi arvannut sen olevan edes mahdollista), että kyllähän näitä sattuu!

yup, there's a huge difference in trying to wobble away on regular heels against rigid platforms. cobblestones are fine with any other type of shoe, at least for me.

my incredible baroque pair from miumiu was deemed "usable as bookends" by a friend after a normally 10 minute trip took me close to 45 minutes and i was exhausted. sadly, inside wear only and a determination to never ever buy shoes with soles like that again. not made for helsinki.

hope someone living in less hazardous environment will love your shoes.

Poor you! I hate walking in heels on cobble stones, so usually I either try to avoid them or take my time stepping carefully right on the stones. I hope your calfs feel better! :)

Cobblestones are rather cumbersome to walk on even in flats, I can't imagine taking them on in high heels! Hope your leg heels soon :)
