The door in my wardrobe*

*the door not actually being there was a disappointment - but at least I was allowed to play with the clothes

//// Something blue, something borrowed

I had several outfit photos packed to my hard drive, now starting to purge…

There’s not much about this outfit, it’s just a pile of cheap stuff. The silhouette draws this to the girly-cutesy side, I let the patterns and colors fight back just a bit to keep it from going too sweet. Tank is quite old American Apparel see thru one (I love electric blue in small portions), cotton cardi is from H&M, skirt from Monki sale (excellent piece, the watercolory black and white plaids are such an unusual and eye teasing print), the belt is from flea market (why would somebody like to sell perfectly worn in cognac leather belt, just asking) and the shoes are old Topshop wood wedges. Cat looks a bit upset about my choice of pattern… …I had to assure her that no animals were harmed…

    i absolutely love the combo! combining leopard with other prints is a perfect way to downplay the slight trashiness of it, but can be tricky. i love what you did with the skirt, the girly touch that stays tough with the blue. yay!

    wow, leopard and electric blue. u know, i have exact same shade t-shirt and exact same cardie :) should i try? never dared wear them together. but i am into pattern mixing too now! my most recent masterpiece was a playful heart print navy blue/white skirt by Zara mixed with a white-blue striped t-shirt with little rose pattern on top of it also by Zara. it was a very natural looking combo but not nearly as brave as yours. and hey, i can see you have lost weight. :)

    well — clothing can not be judged by price tag, right? or should i say that style can be put w/ a price tag ;-) i saw this outfit on chicopian — the thumbnail, first — and it totally stroke me! and now, those photos are even better .… i really like some of your self captures — very artistic, xx

    Thanks! I’m slowly getting better on self photography — but I should probably explore more photographing sites in our apartment (no way I’m going out for this, haha!).

    Lisa, you should definitely try brights with this kind of classic but slightly cartoonish brown cat print — they go so well together!

    Ahhh, is your cat a bengal? I have two bengals and whenever I wear my leopard print flats, they get very annoyed!! :)
