I really, really dig skirts. The freedom of movement they provide — and the ventilation on summertime! For me it is not even a girl thing, I think that I would fight my right to wear one even if I were a guy.
Anyway… …I’m not riding on trends today, either… …I just happen to have found few quite awesome second hand leather pieces lately — this butter soft Pocahontas skirt being one.
The skirt was originally long a-lined one but I hitched it up from sides and attached with few stitches for this slight bustle skirt shape. Combined it to old H&M silk anorak, AA gray marl tank top and a pair of all white Converse — which in spite of my all effort to keep them bright and clean start to look pretty worn out… …all for this slightly sporty look. At makeup department there is still not much effort, sorry…

OK, at last i got to read your blog in the new office…been a month! this place did not feel cozy until i added this page to my Favourites in Explorer. This a very on trend outfit in fact, sport chic seems to be somewhat very in now. Yesterday i bought my first pair of textile trainers, can you imagien? i never thought those converse are shoes for a lady, but they seem somewhat very cool addition to my flowery dresses this summer. mine are black with white stitching. love your leather skirt, colour is very cool.

Lisa, good to have you back! I don’t wear canvas trainers often — but could not imagine my wardrobe without. I think I need a gray pair in addition to these. Or bright colored one. Or black with stitching
Actually this kind of yellowish brown (butter toffee color) is not the best color for me — but goes well in a skirt. I think that one could apply the same idea for introducing some color to wardrobe — by doing it first below the waistline…
The shape is definitely more interesting than the original shape — and the leather agrees well with these experiments. I just wish you could touch this piece! The skirt is made by local leather factory Friitala — and they use some quality hides for their clothing. Friitala pieces are definitely worth of hunting in Finnish flea markets — although some sort of refreshing/ customizing is almost always necessary… …but I have to say that I like their oversized pilot coat for next autumn.
