I got myself a pair of Jeffrey Campbell boots from Stockholm sales, lovely Flying A sells them. I really dig the wooden sole, subtle cut-out detail in the heel, pointy toe and grainy leather in these… …plus as far as I know they are not an actual knock-off from any designer boot. The last is comfortable and they are quite walkable — but naturally the sole does not bend at all, so I have to be careful.
And they are certainly not for this weather:

Can’t wait until the streets are clean again!

I have decided to challenge myself next year — I’m going to make all my new clothes by myself. The only exceptions I will allow are underwear & socks, jeans (if I need new ones, which I doubt), shoes (going to be very strict with these, too, just got a nice pair from sales and can’t really say that I need new ones soon) — and maybe some second hand, mainly for material for my own projects.
I’m not huge on new year’s promises in general, but my next year will be creativity themed. I have gotten all too lazy with my own projects lately. Even though creating things is one of the biggest joys in my life it does not happen automatically… …I’m one lazy bitch. I need to push myself a bit and see what happens.
If this leads to no new clothes at all — fine. Then it will be all about wardrobe remixing.

So… …the Lanvin for H&M dress I had to see was this age appropriate (ha-ha) tulle explosion. What really tuned me into it was that a) it is not black, but rather mundane shade of taupey grey — interesting pick for party dress b) although all the tulle is polyester the whole inner skirt and the skin colored yoke are silk…
Yeah, it is all sorts of crazy an theatrical, probably too much for… …well practically anywhere. But today I’m wearing it to Christmas eve dinner at home, with old Moroccan slippers and feather head band from Etsy.

I think I need this coat in my life. It would cover my chunky knits perfectly — plus it looks great belted with lighter layers. Available also in longer version, in black, blue and cognac, at Anywho shop.

I have been lousy blogger lately — the only explanation I have is that the darkest time of the year makes photographig outfits so difficult. But… …it is perfect time for knitting! I just wanted to share with you this current work in progress — the yarn is absolutely lovely merino-alpaca blend (Blue Sky Alpacas worsted hand dyes) — and the awesome herringbone stitch makes me happy knitter all the way, although it is quite tedious to knit…

It feels that harness jewelry is bit of everywhere… …still I am in awe with extremely beautiful examples, like this architectonic leather harness piece by Mode En Module. Via Kabiri — that jewelry store is definitely worth a look.

Atalanta Weller’s sculptural heels are gorgeous — but she is also able to design super attractive low heeled shoe. I would gladly glide on the icy sidewalks of Helsinki in these. Image from Browns.

I just finished this chunky little cardigan — could not be better timing. Snow records are broken daily… …it is beautiful — but so damn cold. I apologize the lack of posting lately — I tend to be less inspired about fashion at wintertime. I feel that the dressing is mostly about surviving in the quite extreme conditions, haha!
The pattern is by Wenlan Chia — and you can find it from her book Twinkle’s Big City Knits. I used awesome bulky merino / alpaca blend for this — it feels almost silky and it is super warm. One of the best things in knitting for me is that I can choose the materials and I’m often able to get so much better things than there is available at stores — in readymade clothing.
