Thanks for Susie Bubble, I’m again introduced to another great webshop — Koshka — specializing Japanese brands. I can’t really say anything intelligent about Japanese fashion in general (you know, like I knew), but deep in my heart I know that a trip to Japan would probably be a sweet torture to me. Feast for my sense of aesthetic, painful for my credit — and I would probably end up cursing my large Scandinavian frame while stuffing myself with some random delicacies of Japanese cuisine…
Sweater, dress and dotted coat by Tsumori Chisato, lovely textured reversible jackets by M. & Kyoko. All from Koshka. BTW, they have sale going on there…

The shoe fairy could bring any pair of these Vagabond spring shoes to my door — and I would be very happy girl indeed!

// Daylight glow vs. the nighttime glitter

I don’t really know why am I so drawn to tacky nail colors. Any neon will do it to me — but I especially love yellow. I love greens, teals, blues and blacks. The recent infatuation… …blindingly sparkly glitter polishes…
The yellow one is Sinful Colors Neon Melon (PITA to use, this is four coat + top coat — but to be fair I haven’t yet encountered easy neon yellow polish), the glitter is Opi Sparkle-icious (or something like that… …I don’t do well with Opi color names).

I got this Malene Birger dress from sales after Christmas. It is kind of serious, good girl dress with long sleeves, subdued nude and gray paint splash print and quite grown up, beautifully draped faux wrap cut. Quite perfect for semi-formal events — and also for everyday workwear, probably layered under a cozy cardigan. I know that I will wear it quite a bit with just some simple undergarment and heels… …but both the pattern and the shape also tempt me to experiment with other patterns and digging out the other side of it…
…like the bold spots of cheap H&M tight from last spring, they turn my thoughts to circus atmosphere every time I wear them… …or the saloon girl vibe with old lace fishnet tights and vintage silk slip.

// I know what I will do next summer
Posted on | January 20, 2011 | 10 Comments

My winter dressing has again been so unispired and functional that I have been dreaming about summer for quite a while now. I will probably run around a lot in simple camis and tanks, mid-length skirts and ballet flats — almost as lazy as my dressing right now, but the midi looks so fresh to my eye that I doubt I can resist. This is all old stuff, thrifted accordion pleat skirt (I was about to hem it shorter, now I’m happy I did not, the length is perfect), American Apparel cami and bra, French Sole ballerinas, some random belt.
The more I look at this the more it reminds me of nineties. I’m one of those girls who did have a phase of very grown up dressing and I remember that I was really into midi skirts — although they were often fitted… I’ve never shun doing things all over again…
The 6 month fitness project did come to an end with pleasing results. My weight is down — but my body measurements probably even more than the weight would promise — I lost 31,5 cm from bust, waist and hips all together — over 2 dress sizes that is. Probably does not show that much in the pictures — I have always picked the most flattering ones — but I can tell that the task has become so much easier lately… I do exercise 5 – 7 times in a week and my eating habits are healthy but not very rigid. I do eat quite a lot, around 2000 kcal a day. And I can do one real chin-up in a good day, which is pretty great thing, I’m darn heavy still! My knee health has improved heaps. Needless to say I’m continuing this path… …I still want some progress!

I’m a sucker of ballet flats — for me it is the next best option to going barefeet — which is never happening for me as long as I live in the city. Right now I’m quite drawn to this raw and beautiful pair from Spirocreations.
