// Down to the rabbit hole

I suck in so many things, like posing and using something else than natural light in photography. But I really want to solve this winter light conditions thing somehow, so you have to bear my experimental take on the images.
This is just an outfit post, simple stuff. Gina Tricot leggings and Rützou wedges with sleeveless black tunic underneath a vintage polyester lace dress (I hate the feel of this stuff but like the look so much that it is a keeper), vintage rabbit fur I bought from five euro day from UFF about seven years ago and repaired myself — now there is a new tear in the left elbow. And Jimmy Choo for H&M belt. I love it, it has so long adjustment portion that it can be easily worn on waist and on hips.

// Toads and shoes and…
Posted on | November 20, 2009 | 12 Comments

They’re like toad (or two of them) that tried to turn prince (royal twins, maybe) — but did not quite make it. I’m not admitting kissing them, though…
These winklepickers are my pick from the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection… …and I really don’t know what else to say about them except I love them — despite them being the least wanted shoe from the collection at least here in Finland. They are the finest under 100 € pair of footwear I ever seen. With their sewn on leather soles, snakeskin pattern printed leather, studs and rhinestones they could well pass for shoe twice or thrice that price. They are quite over the top, but in a good way. I see them slipping to my outfits with ease.
I know that many people consider these H&M collaborations quite lame, but to be honest I don’t care. The selections in this country are so limited that there is no use to be too snobbish (like I could afford to be snobbish anyway).

Sorry, I got bit wild with my new camera
. I had an idea, even, behind this picture craze… …I tried to illustrate that although I do like pile stuff especially around my upper body, I try to do it so that the movement makes the layers to live.
The outfit consists of basics seen here before: Annette Görtz jacket, Complexgeometries top and H&M sequin leggings. To be honest I don’t really like the leggings. They are slightly large and the inner seams are bulging — plus the sequins feel scratchy against the skin even through the fabric. But I wanted to continue the bling theme above the ankle, so I let them do the job.

// Jimmy Choo for H&M

Probably most of you have been browsing through the excellent preview of Jimmy Choo for H&M on Nitrolicious. I have nothing special to add, just few thoughts and my favorite pieces from the collection.

Well, the collection looks complete, more so than I was expecting from accessory brand collaboration — and quality-wise it seems to be very promising. Even the shoes look good, detailed and well constructed. I was really suspicious about them knowing the H&M short tradition with (mainly plastic) shoes. The overall look is very, very eighties glamour — too much of both of those attributes for me to swallow as a whole, but there is several individual items I could easily incorporate to my wardrobe. That gray suede dress is definitely calling my name and I like the rhinestone encrusted black mini dress.
For my surprise I fell in love with a pair of flats from the shoe selection, those snakeskin winklepickers are brilliant! From the heels I would definitely pick these detailed, stitched stiletto sandals. Not crazy about the thigh high boot, it is really high and otherwise pretty standard. From the first leaked pictures I thought that it had a radiant silver platform, but the better images revealed that it was just a shadow under the boot… Would probably be a good pick for a tall person in a need for some serious thigh-skimmers.
All images from Nitrolicious.
The menswear is definitely worth a glimpse, too.
