////// The door in my wardrobe*

Oh my god, I stumbled on a real gem on my last surfing spree. Katie Gallagher is young New York based designer. Her S/S 10 lookbook speaks me in volumes. It’s all black but the vibe is more space goth than rocker chic, no stud or shred in the sight. Side note: no, I’m not getting tired to those yet, shreds ans studs are classic for me, but the fashion world has perhaps slightly overdosed those lately.

The garments are constructed but still manage play with softness, the silhouettes vary from forced and restricted to flowy and soft. Judging from the images her legwear looks simply amazing. Every single piece of this collection looks like something I would gladly add to my wardrobe, they really connect to the darker side of my sense of aesthetics.

Few images from the earlier S/S 09 collection. Those leggings with zippers, wow, just wow. I love how they can be opened to form some weird fabric sculptures around the leg. The pale color palette also reveals some detail of the beautiful texture interplay in her designs.

I’m amazed. I really need to get my old lazy bones to NY.
